In the years before the Colonies of the New World became the United States of America, early settlers left their homelands throughout Europe and sailed west to establish a new life.  For some it was the opportunity that drove them.  For others, it was fleeing religious persecution.  Among the emigrants were those with the surname of "Arnold".  Many of these Arnold's were from the United Kingdom and others were from Germany and other parts of Europe.  

This website is a portal for various resources related to the early Arnold settlers.  We thank you for stopping by our site and look forward to collaborating with you to expand all of our research efforts. 

The Arnoldfamilytree.net website has been put together to assist genealogists who are researching the "Arnold" surname with a focus on the early settlers in America.  It is one of our goals to make this a collaborative effort where various researchers help us add to our information and other resources.

At present, the site is divided into seven subsections:

The Early Arnold Settlers Research Project.  This part of the site has extensive resources related to the early Arnold Settlers and features the ARNOLD DATABASE, a tool that can link you to your ancestors and other researchers who share the same interests.

Forums. Discussion Forums with separate threads for various Counties etc. as well as separate topics such as the research of an individual line of Arnold's

Digital Library.  A common "Repository" of digital information in a keyword searchable database for information such as wills, deeds, marriage licenses etc.

DNA Study Information.  A page with details on the Arnold DNA project

Biographies Section.  This section of the site features more in-depth in information the various Arnold emigrants and their line of descendants such as Johann George Arnold who emigrated from Germany in 1839 on the ship "Elizabeth".
